October 8 - Estate Auction

Michaan's October Estate Sale includes noteworthy lots of fine art and furnishings, jewels and jewelry boxes. A Rembrandt drypoint etching and Josef Albers' "Hommage To The Square: I-Sb" are among the diverse artworks in the sale, which also includes "Portrait of Woman with Green Ribbon" by the painter of Parisian ladies and French travel posters, Jean Gabriel Domergue. Two furniture lots feature the highly collectable designs of Danish Modern master Hans Wegner, including the beloved "Papa Bear" armchair with its matching ottoman. The Asian Art department offers a fine selection of bronze censers, carved jade, and scroll paintings, as well as a Meiji Period cloisonné vase by Hattori Tadasaburo. October's jewelry sale features dramatic statement rings, finely crafted vintage pieces, and necklaces of polished gemstone beads. A large collection of elegant Art Nouveau jewelry boxes is another October highlight.
