Art from China and Japan

Join us as we explore the incredibly rich cultural heritage of these two Asian countries. With a hugely diverse artistic history, every piece is a highlight, but some of the choicest works include a wonderful carving of a Mandarin duck, from nephrite jade, dating to the Qing Dynasty; a painting scroll of a tiger, attributed to the Japanese painter Kishi Ganku, and dating to the 18th century, during the Edo period; and a large okimono, or objet d?art, of a samurai on horseback, richly detailed and carved from bone, from the Meiji period.
