Chinese and Asian Works of Art, Part I
This auction marks the beginning of Auctionata?s December Asian Art Day with two premium auctions. It was curated in global cooperation by Auctionata?s Berlin and New York Departments for Asian Art. Among the exquisite selection of fine Chinese and Asian works of art of this first sale, we offer outstanding Chinese paintings and ceramic works of art, a very rare archaic ritual bronze vessel, Buddhist Chinese and Tibetan bronzes, fine jade carvings and jewelry, complemented by Indian miniatures and a few rare Japanese paintings.
Highlights of the auction include a rare choice of paintings in the traditional Chinese painting manner by praised modern masters like Wang Xuetao, Cao Kejia, and others. These highly sought-after scrolls and framed works on paper have been collected by a Chinese connoisseur who lived and worked in Berlin since the 1970s, and who had acquired the paintings in the 1960s in China, mostly in Beijing. These works never showed up to the art market before and have been in German family property ever since. Please stay tuned for the upcoming second part of this thrilling Asian Art Day, taking place in New York soon after!
