Our Summer antiques and Fine Art auction includes the Peter and Ann Davies collection of Early Musical Instruments including Lot 1163 An Important Bass Viola da Gamba by Thomas Collingwood, London, 1680, Lot 1164 An English Violoncello by William Forster (II), London, 1795, Lot 1165 A French Violoncello ascribed to Louis Guersan, Paris, circa 1770, Lot 1195 A Rare and Important Cornettino, 16th or 17th Century Lot 1197 Fine and Important Set of Union Pipes by Timothy Kenna, Dublin, circa 1800 There are also bows incl two by Hills and a Rudall and Rose flute circa 1830 The sale also includes the William Brott collection of original artwork for book illustrations. William Brott was a Director of Hamlyn Books and amongst the 35 works on offer are six front cover illustrations from the Billy Bunter books.
