HIGH NOON (CALIFORNIA) and MANITOU GALLERIES (CHEYENNE
and SANTA FE) have teamed up to produce “August in
Santa Fe” - a new 680 lot auction of Western Art and
American Indian material, August 11 & 12 at the Hilton
Hotel Ballroom in Santa Fe, NM Includes works by
Couse, Balink, Bettina Steinke, Bisttram, Lumpkins,
Dasburg, Cassidy, Agnes Sims, C.M. Russell, O.C.
Seltzer, Bob Scriver, Will James, Ralph Oberg, Bob
Seabeck, Earl Biss, Malcolm Furlow, Conrad Schweiring,
Bill Schenck and Terri Moyers. Of particular note are
40 Edward Borein works including 13 etchings of famous
missions. Also noteworthy is an important Southern
California American Indian collection, a marvelous
late addition to August in Santa Fe . Highlights
feature the finest of basketry including a documented
DOT SO LA LEE and Lena Dick, plus a Chumash bowl,
several extremely fine Panamint baskets, Mission
rattlesnake, Apache & Yokut figural Ollas plus a large
gambling tray. Also included in this impressive
collection are a 19th century Blackfeet Man's Warrior
Shirt, 1870's Cheyenne Tobacco Bag, extremely rare,
fully beaded Sioux Belt & Holster and a stunning
1880's Nez Perce Cradle
