Condition report was slightly optimistic but not terrible. Shipping through recommended UPS shipper was surprisingly expensive for a piece of fabric that fit into a shoebox size container.

We used the the UPS shipper recommended by J. Garret. This shipper changed the terms of our shipping agreement without contacting us. One item was damaged in transit. Two other items were damaged due to inappropriate wrapping on fragile pieces. The shipper was apologetic and resolved the matter expeditiously. "David" from UPS was very helpful in expediting our insurance claim.

I'm having a problem with the last purchase of J Garrett from Texas, the lot iwas scribe as lacquer commode and it turns out to be ebonize. That is a huge erro discription. I bought the item due to the lacquer factor. It has become a ver expensive mistake. How do we resolve this? In the last 8 months I have spend 25 thousand dollars with your online auctions. This is a terrible distraction and I am not happy with the results. Please reply. Thank you

Communication by email was excellent, but I never could make contact with anyone by phone and messages were not returned. Not really an issue, but could have been if something time sensitive was needed.

We had an experience that was unpleasant in that we were bidding on something and thought we were the high bidder and the next message received was that the item was sold to someone on the floor. There was something missed for sure. The auctioneer put down the hammer too soon. I have a transcript of the event that shows that I was never notified that I had been outbid by someone on the floor. I was very unhappy and frustrated that the item I waited for all day was sold to someone else and for a very low price. I was not nearly finished bidding. I called and complained but was told there was nothing that could be done after the fact.

the ups store service very bad. they own by person and they just want save material on packing. i had fragile ivory stuff was packed just one box instead of fragile packing 2 box. the box also very thin and inside stuff not very full. when i got my item one handle dropped and another side almost drop too. even insurance can pay the bidding money back but where i can fins the same antique from the world? i am afraid of bidding on J. garreett auction house again. they contract the ups store only care charge money, if some thing wrong they let you deal with insurance. everything of unique or antique people buy all have long time history on them. if any one break them mean the history story on it gone. i think everyone should protect them instead of save money break them.
