Extremely helpful and friendly staff.

The description wasn't updated by the time of the auction-the item was damaged, which I saw when I went to pick up the item. There wasn't anyone to talk to when I picked the item up-

The shipping was incredibly badly handled

found the winning bidder invoice email offensive and of poor taste. Capital letters throughout like "NO EXCEPTIONS" and threats of "$10 PER DAY if items are not picked up within two weeks" immediately took the fun out of my winning this item, being in another country, the experience immediately turned to panic to arrange pick up to avoid this excessive and honestly, insulting charge. Whoever does the messaging and communications at Westport is not very good at it. You can convey these messages differently, or better yet target the folks who have packages left nearing the two week mark. From the get go it let a bad taste in my mouth and doubt I will deal with Westport again, apparently a very junior auction service. A

I know that most auction houses use 3rd party shippers such as UPS, but I always feel a bit at risk when they do the packing. They do not always know or understand just how vintage or valuable items should be packed and are not always open to suggestions. Plus, what they charge for their services and packing materials is generally too high. Some auction houses, such as Treadway Toomey, do their own packing on small items and I try to use them more now knowing that. Perhaps you can talk to the shippers and try to get them to lower their prices some. I paid $500 plus the 22 % auction fee (which I am alright with), but then over $150 to ship something that could have been shipped for maybe $100 IMO. Over all I had a good experience with Westport Auctions, other than the shipping cost. Thanks

Travis and Kate Worrell are two of the hardest working people I know. They run an organized auction, have a great attitude and are diligent about describing their items accurately.

Please consider taking PayPal payments; some of the auction houses that I have purchased items through and it is by far my favorite way to pay.

I wish you would let the auction house know that the UPS store they recommend, and particularly the contact person there named Kerry, is one of the worst people I have ever dealt with. I bid and buy often on-line but she was terrible to deal with and, although not associated with the auction house, left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding the entire experience. I would be far less inclined to buy from Westport Auction House as a direct result of my experience dealing with Kerry.

We adore working with them-just wanted you to know the shipping was neutral only because we picked up and they could not be more helpful. We would never miss working anytime we could with the great guys at Westport. Two hands up and applauding! Like SO many ofLA vendors the ship time turn around is difficult for out of town bidders. Not impossible but difficult

If I am kind of dissatisfied with this auction house, it is more than anything because of how long it's taking in arriving and receiving the goods won. Since it was paid I have been waiting to receive the goods, also it has been lack of communication from the shipping department trying to find out what was happening, as I said I am still waiting for the arrival of the goods a month after the sale has finished. As and international buyer I rely in the aution house to recommend or to take care of the shipping, I am not new in dealing with abroad auction houses but the communication, payment and shipping have been more fluid and easy with others with Westport aution has been a bit of a struggle, so, I will think twice before participating in any future sales from this Auction House

The auction house is unwilling to accept the fact that the item I won is unauthentic and refuses to refund me the amount I paid despite the fact that I returned the item. They are unreliable and impolite when dealing with customers.

The merchandise is not as represented. Very misleading with photos and descriptions. I had one issue with them and gave them a second chance and was again disappointed. I WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

Very rude e-mail threatening storage charges if you do not arrange shipping quickly-I will not buy from them again!
