Day One centers on fine jewelry, luxury accessories, sterling silver, and a curated selection of furniture. Jewelry is the primary category, led by important 18k gold and platinum pieces set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, pearls, and other gemstones. Highlights include an 18k yellow gold heart-shaped ruby and diamond necklace, an Italian 18k gold pearl and diamond collar, and a torsade pearl necklace centered by a 39.53-carat cabochon Ceylon sapphire. Diamond standouts include a 6.6-carat emerald-cut diamond platinum ring with GIA certification and a Taylor & Hart 1.70-carat marquise-cut diamond ring of D color and internally flawless clarity. Additional jewelry offerings feature Persian turquoise and diamond suites, ruby and diamond bracelets, pearl necklaces, and designer pieces, including Chopard. Watches are represented by makers such as Rolex, Piaget, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Ebel, TAG Heuer, and Baume & Mercier. Day Two centers on fine art, featuring a strong and varied selection across painting, sculpture, and works on paper. Highlights include paintings by Gary Niblett and William Moyers, as well as a Highland cattle scene by Louis Bosworth Hurt. Additional standouts include Douglas Arthur Teed’s large-scale Harem Dancer and a Michigan landscape by Pierre Bittar. Sculpture is represented by multiple works by Marshall Fredericks, along with a wall sculpture by Gilda Snowden from the Estate of Thomas Fernstrum. Modern and contemporary works on paper are also well represented, with examples by George Chann, Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Mimmo Paladino, Cy Twombly, and Henry Moore. European works include Alphonse Mucha, Eugène Grasset, Toulouse-Lautrec, Man Ray, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, and a Gustav Klimt folio, in addition to a Frank Lloyd Wright portfolio. The sale concludes with two defining offerings: a large and cohesive selection of works by Robert Hopkin and over 100 Oriental rugs from the Margarat Weerakoon collection of Oak Park, Michigan. The Hopkin group, assembled by a single consignor over a lifetime, comprises numerous oils and watercolors depicting marine scenes, fishing activity, and coastal landscapes, offering a broad representation of the artist’s subject matter and scale. The rug collection includes Turkish Oushak, Persian Tabriz, Bakhtiari, Kashan, Kerman, and Keshan examples, as well as Indo Tabriz, Agra, Savonnerie-design, and Chinese Art Deco carpets in a wide range of sizes.May 2026: Online Only
The Online Only sale is led by a broad selection of rugs, Asian decorative arts, prints, ceramics, glass, and small-scale works of art. A large portion of the sale comes from the collection of Margarat Weerakoon, Oak Park, Michigan, and includes a wide range of handwoven Oriental rugs and runners in small and mid-size formats. The sale also includes a substantial selection of Asian material. Chinese works include blue and white porcelain jars, vases, and planters, cloisonné pieces, jade and serpentine carvings, snuff bottles, table screens, incense jars, brush washers, bells, and carved decorative objects. Japanese lots include woodblock prints, an Arita charger, an Imari bowl, a Meiji bronze vase, Fukagawa porcelain candle holders, and other ceramics and decorative items. Additional material includes Tibetan thangkas and porcupine quill boxes. Works on paper and smaller art lots include lithographs, woodblocks, prints, watercolors, and paintings by William Nicholson, Toyohara Kunichika, Hokusai, Michael Glenn Monroe, William Ray McCauley, Catherine McClung, and others.
