I only recently discovered Charlotte's Auctions. I was very happy with the items I won. They have many informative and trustworthy resources for Asian antiques!

Charlotte is very responsive and my item is professionally packaged and shipped with in-house packaging, so no worry about S & H. As for the description accuracy, I am not very sure now and will ask another third authentication party for further authentication. The auction description said this item is part of the purchase from Prince Chun Maison in Beijing by Yamanaka & Co in 1915, which means that the item was made before 1915 and at least 100 years old. I sent the pictures of the Album (lot 0029) to a Qing Antique Authentication team at Beijing TV, and their conclusion is: the writing style of the Album is not consistent with the ones in the era of 191X and is a recently made one, and thus the Album is fake and all related lots are fake. BTV's conclusion may not be absolutely correct as their evaluation is based on the pictures, and Charlotte has a good reputation history. It is well known that there are many people/companies/factories in China (and maybe in other places too) making fake high-value antiques and selling to USA. It is almost impossible for www.liveauctioneers.com and auctioneers to guarantee all items are true, but one thing www.liverauctioneers.com and all auctioneers should do and are able to do is to ask seller/consigners to sign a form and guarantee the accuracy of the sourcing and put on file. The Buyers could sue the sellers/consigners who made fake statement about the sourcing. Let us pushLiveauctioneers.com to implement this as a policy. Amazon, The RealReal and many other online eBusiness platform have been held accountable for selling fake goods on their platforms.

This auction house did everything right... everything that a customer would expect from an experienced, first-class operation.

They provide in-house shipping, and it is the lowest-priced shipping I have seen from ANY of the other online auction houses. It's easy to pay with credit card, and they ship quickly. There are many shady auction houses on Live Auctioneers-Those that sell fakes, duplicates, or withhold items altogether. There are those which make promises they can't keep or refuse to communicate with their clientele. But Charlotte's is the opposite of a bad apple. They answered all of my frequent questions diligently and with patience. They provided extra photos for me when requested. They packaged and shipped the item very securely, helping keep my item safe even through a journey across a multitude of climates. Great service and a trustworthy house.
