Netherlands museum acquires Sottsass cabinet, plans retrospective AMSTERDAM – The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has acquired an important item by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007), one of the most influential designers of the second half of the 20th century. The work is Cabinet no. 70 (2006), a monumental piece of furniture that is a combined cabinet, table and dresser.
