Fine Asian Works of Art Auction
Doucai porcelain, carved celadon jade and cinnabar, Japanese silver and bronze censers are among the treasures to discover at the June 18 Fine Asian Art Auction. Huanghuali furniture, embroidered dragon robes and an Imperial court necklace of amber, jade and coral are some of the collectors' favorites offered in this sale. A special feature is the group of Chinese calligraphy scrolls with excellent provenance. The auction includes many fine figures of Buddha and of Hindu deities. A highlight is the pair of commanding carved wood Japanese guardian figures, their noble ferocity having endured over many generations. Paintings and fine pottery complete the sale.
