Modern and Contemporary Art+Design

Cowan's fall auction of Modern and Contemporary Art + Design will feature a diverse group of artworks ranging from paintings, prints and photographs to bronze, ceramic and glass sculptures as well as furniture. Highlights include La Femme Angora, an aquatint by Joan Miro (lot 12), a seven-piece blown glass set by Dale Chihuly (lot 134), a Madoura ceramic dove vessel by Pablo Picasso (lot 150), a bronze sculpture by Ernst Neizvestny (lot 93), and a lounge chair by Vladimir Kagan (lot 118). Also noteworthy are a collection of photographs by Mexican artists Gabriela Iturubide and Mariana Yampolsky, mid-century modern furniture by Eames and McCobb, and a fine selection of original works by noted artists such as Hans Burkhardt, Romare Bearden, David Hayes, and Lydia Buzio.
