Important Curated California Collections

Michaan's presents exceptional period furnishings from the estates of two prominent California collectors. Amassed in collaboration with top American and international designers, the collections include rare English and continental antiques such as the pair of George III oval mirrors after Robert Adam. Fine Regency, Empire and Neoclassical furniture and decorations are featured. Bronzes, Baroque needleworks, and 19th century French songbird models are among the unusual finds. 20th century highlights include French Bagues rock crystal wall lights, a 1930s Gio Ponti pendant lantern, Eames credenza and more from masters of modern design. Fine collectibles range from Royal Bayreuth porcelain to handmade American appliquéd quilts. Statuary and ornaments for the garden include monumental pieces from England and France. 19th-century lions to guard an entrance, massive stone frogs to bring good fortune, and iconic English lead Warwick Castle garden urns are a few examples. Italian Renaissance bronze wine amphora have a rich patina of great age. The rare Chinoiserie faux bois cast stone dog house is a garden folly for the ages..
