Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers is proud to announce their March Antiques, Fine Art, and Asian Arts auction taking place Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00am. The auction will feature over 350 lots of decorative arts, paintings, sterling silver, and Asian antiques and fine arts featuring the Ruth Latta Collection of Japanese Scrolls, Provincetown, Massachusetts, and part two of the George Dagher Collection of Chinese Export, New York. The auction will open with over fifty paintings highlighted by a tonalist oil on canvas landscape by Robert Bruce Crane (1857-1937) titled “Late Spring Morning” along with a smaller landscape by the artist. Other highlights include an oil on canvas painting of a seated female nude by famed social realist Moses Soyer (1899-1974) and a collection of watercolor on handmade paper expressionist paintings by Taro Yamamoto (1919-1994). The second portion of the catalog will offer an eclectic mix of antiques, furniture, and decorative arts highlighted by an Austro-Hungarian silver and ivory secessionist tea set and complimenting Hugo Moser modernist silver flatware set. Other highlights include a rare Messmore and Damon for the 1939 New York World’s Fair architectural model of the Hall of Presidents, a monument pair of Minton majolica Bacchus vases, and a 16TH century Milanese renaissance carved walnut cabinet. Within the decorative arts section will be the Ruth Latta collection of thirty Japanese scrolls and a fine Chinese rosewood mother of pearl inlaid and marble inset bench. The final portion of the catalog will offer approximately seventy-five lots of Chinese Export from the George Dagher collection highlighted by an 18th Century Famille Rose applied relief floral bowl and a pair of urn form Famille Rose porcelain vases. Preview will be available Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 12:00pm to 9:00pm, and doors open at 8:00am the day of sale. For more information please 401-533-9980.
