Rudy Vallee Estate, Jewelry, & Fine Art, etc.

This sale features items from the estate of musician, singer, bandleader, and actor Rudy Vallee and his wife Eleanor Vallee. The items come directly from the home Eleanor shared with her second husband and fellow actor Byron Clark. The Vallee estate includes selections of Eleanor's personal jewelry with some fine art deco gold and diamond pieces. Also included are quality Native American jewelry, some of which were Rudy's, costume pieces, and more. Other fine items from the Vallee estate include four of Rudy's personal saxophones and a James Montgomery Flagg drawing of Rudy. Furnishings include a fine Tobey Furniture Clock circa 1890 with works by Joseph Jennens and a 9-tube chime. Also featured is a late 18th - early 19th century Renaissance revival inlaid hall seat. Important pieces from other estates include: Jewelry: A stunning custom French Art Deco diamond, sapphire and platinum bracelet with 19.3 ctw diamonds and 40 ctw natural sapphires. A 14K gold ring with 6 ctw diamonds. Gold and diamond watches, including Baume & Mercier, etc. Gold rings with diamonds, pearls, opals, and other precious stones. Art: John Singer Sargent portrait of Georges Clemenceau, Ruins of Rome by Giovanni Paolo Panini, a sketchbook used by Katherine Hepburn, drawing by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and other original works of art by Max Luce, Donald Grant, Henry P. Smith, and Julian Barrow among others. Historical: An important piece of Mafia history, one of the two solid oak Poker tables with chairs used by the Mafia leaders at the infamous 1957 meeting in Apalachin, NY purchased directly from the home of "Joe the Barber" Barbara. We will also be offering an all original 48mm Japanese WWII "Kamikaze" watch by Seikosha, 16th - 19th century maps, and autographs. Important glass and porcelain: Museum quality cut and etched 19th century Uranium glass Pokal. Also glassware from Moser, Tiffany, and Lalique as well as an unused 12 place setting of Royal Copenhagen's Floridanica dinnerware.
