Worldly Enticements, Timeless Temptations - 2

Day 2 of our Spring Auction Weekend features an outstanding group of artwork, including works by Louis Jambor, Eugene Galien-Laloue, Scott Leighton, Giovanni Bonomi, Theodore Wendell, Jonas Lie, and Charles Warren Eaton; plus, marine art with paintings by William Pierce Stubbs, Antonio Jacobsen, Augustus Buhler and William Edward Norton. There will be a large selection of French 18th ? 20th Century furniture and accessories, along with a group of early English oak and walnut furniture. As always, the Saturday offerings include an excellent selection of Americana, including fine antique furniture, folk art (such as an 1824 New Hampshire tavern sign, double-seater carousel horse, and carved architectural eagle), and marine items. This day also offers important antiquities, such as a 12th Century Khmer sandstone deity sculpture and an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus funereal mask; plus Asian antiques and a group of Russian icons. Rounding out the day will be selections of fine Oriental carpets and early weaponry.
