David Dike Fine Art Texas Art Auction

This next auction features 340 lots of turn of the century to mid-century Texas Art. It features a collection of over 85 paintings from the Robert Brousseau Estate. Brousseau built a collection of some of the most significant early Texas paintings over the course of 40 years; some of the most important paintings by artists: Joe Arpa, one of the largest Porfirio Salinas bluebonnets ever painted, a vibrant 1930 Harry Anthony DeYoung, a mosaic mural by Dallas artist Octavio Medellin of the history of money are just a few of the pieces from this carefully curated collection. Major highlights from the sale are a Florence McClung of downtown Dallas in 1945 celebrating the engineering feat of the Triple Underpass entering Dallas; an H.O. Kelly farm scene that was part of the Fort Worth Art Association Collection (which became the Modern) and a groundbreaking painting by Texas modernist, Seymour Fogel. The sale also features over one hundred pieces of uniquely selected pieces for first-time collectors. (Auction time is 12:00 noon in Dallas, TX)
