Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

We are very pleased to offer the final portion of the James Weisenborn Collection. The Weisenborn Collection began with the prehistoric artifacts found by several generations of family members in and around Adams County, Illinois. In 1950, Jim began a close friendship with B.W. Stephens. This relationship introduced him to a network of artifact collectors such as Tilton, Buel, Wachtel, etc.. During the 1950's and 1970's, Jim added many fine artifacts to his collection. In 1976, he documented his collection in Who's Who in Indian Relics #4. Most of the Weisenborn artifacts have been in the collection for 50 years or more. Rarely does an artifact collection, untouched for 50 years, become available to the public. Don't miss this opportunity to add a fine Weisenborn relic to your collection. Highlighting this sale are a number of very fine Axes, including one of the finest Full Groove Axes to be found in Kentucky. The Weisenborn Keokuk Axe (9.5 lbs) is being offered as well. It is also a pleasure to offer a select group of artifacts from the Dale and Betty Roberts Collection. Dale Roberts was an integral part of the artifact collecting community for decades. Dale and Betty were featured in Who's Who in Indian Relics #3, #5 and #7. Included in this fine offering are the Roberts' well known Northwest Coast Monolithic Clubs. There are two being offered, each being one of the finest examples of its type. A variety of fine artifacts from the Roberts collection will be offered. More Sale Highlights - 8" Ed Buel Dickson, large Delaware Chert Adena Spear, colorful Discoidals once in the Jenkins and Fecht collections. The are dozens of pictured artifacts. Over 100 artifacts have independent COAs. Something for everyone.
