Transportation & Technology Auction

The Owls Head Transportation Museum, Owls Head, Maine USA will sponsor a Transportation & Technology Auction on June 28, 2007 at 5pm EST. The fund-raising sale will feature 250+-items representing landmark achievements in early technology, complemented by transportation-related collectibles and memorabilia and an incredible collection of artwork and ephemera, including important Edisonia lots and an important donated print collection offered publicly for the first time in over 50 years.

The color catalog comprises three main sections.

The first: Technology which includes steam and hot air engines, dynamos, electrical devices, the finest builders' models, full size engines, and related accessories.

The second: Transportation includes fine nautical, automobile, railroad, and aircraft lots including advertising, automobile models, ship models, early automotive lighting, hood ornaments, spark plug collections, railroadania and numerous related accessories.

The final section: Artwork and Ephemera features extremely rare and important Edisonia lots including a Menlo Park diary and the collection of Menlo Park's Martin Force. This section also includes original artwork, lithographs, prints, photographs and early ephemera on lighting, technology and transportation. An early collection of mid-19th century railroad ephemera is included. Proceeds from commissions, buyer's premium, auction donations and catalog sales from this Auction will benefit the Museum's programs and services.
