Palm Beach Antique to Modern Estate Auction
Neely Auction will be holding their Winter Palm Beach Antique to Modern
Estate Auction on Sunday, January 27th at 12pm. The sale will feature 258
lots of furnishings, fine art, sculpture, decor, lighting and sterling
silver. As always, some truly unique finds accompany more commonly sought
after designs.
Some one-of-a-kind finds include a 19th century gynecological exam table,
a portable apothecary cabinet, 1940's steel lap guitar attributed to Hank
Williams as Hank the Drifter, 1940's to 1970's American Western film
posters, and a 1930's "Mountain Man" nickel slot machine.
Sculptural styles to suit every taste include American bronzes by Herb
Mignery, hammered copper avian sculptures by Roy Butler, Sergio
Bustamante's whimsical cubism, brutalist wall art by Curtis Jere, and a
realistic sculpture of a woman by Mark Sijan. Porcelain Lladro figurines,
Murano art glass, French bronzes, and a large bronze, nearly life-sized
horse statue will be sold to the highest bidder.
Furniture designers include Paul Evans, Milo Baughman, Maitland Smith,
Karl Springer, Falster Mobelfabrik Denmark, Enrique Garcel and Palecek.
Unsigned pieces such as Thebes style chairs and Hollywood Regency style
mirrors and seating are not to be missed. Formal French, Italian and
American furnishings to be sold are a compliment to a more traditional
home.
Fine art by Bill Mack, Gino Hollander, Losi Cinello, Frank Thomas & Ollie
Johnson for Disney, Maurice Meyer, Chuck Jones for Warner Bros Inc, Manuel
Munoz Ruiz, Jack Leyine, and more. Diminutive portraits on porcelain,
dimensional dioramas made with Victorian lace, and oriental decorated
plaques are among the unexpected pieces of art.
Sterling silver, as well as 10k, 14k, and 18k gold and precious gems will
be sold at the end of the auction. Makers include Wallace, Ilias
Lalaounis, Cartier, Christofle, Omega, Eterna, and more. Foreign currency
will also be auctioned.
