Couture, Textiles, and Costume Jewelry

The November 16 auction will offer a large selection of important vintage couture by the world’s most famed couturiers. The sale will also feature an extensive single owner collection of important cAostume jewelry. Early COUTURE highlights include a 1910 evening gown by Lucile and two elegant 1905 gowns by Worth, as well as a group of late 19th and early 20th century New York designs, a 1925 black lace dress by Chanel, and a rare 1939 dress by Balenciaga. From the 1960s and 70s are dresses and suits by Balenciaga, Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, Galanos and Guy Laroche from the collection of the Marquesa de San Damian. The auction will also offer a rare 1970 Norell brown velvet coat trimmed in white mink, Stephen Sprouse’s day-glo orange wool coat from his first collection in 1983, clothing and accessories by Hermes, and designs by Fortuny, Paquin, Saint Laurent, Trigere, Halston, Thea Porter, Maimbocher, Adrian, Pucci, Jean Louis, Commes des Garconnes, Versace and Geoffrey Beene, among many others. The ACCESSORIES feature cases and handbags by Vuitton, Hermes, Vuitton, Nettie Rosenstein and Iradj Moini, as well as hats by Jean Barthet. The TEXTILE section includes fine linens and laces, in addition to American, European and numerous Asian textiles. The private collection of COSTUME JEWELRY comprises almost 500 pieces by Weiner Werkstatte, Kollmar and Jourdan, Maggy Rouf, Schiaparelli, Flamand, Eisenberg, Miriam Haskell, Dior, Balmain, Luciana, Gripoix for Pucci, Coppola & Toppo, Versace, Armani, Lagerfeld and others.
