Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

This auction contains a very fine and varied section of artifacts. It contains the second and final offering of the late Merle Wasson Collection. Merle collected artifacts for decades. Although his collection contains a variety of midwestern artifacts, Merle later concentrated on collecting authentic Paleo points from all over the U.S.. Many of his Paleo pieces have been authenticated by Dwain Rogers, Tom Davis or Greg Perino. We are also very pleased to introduce the fabulous Gary Cuckler Collection in this auction. Over 75 of Gary's finest relics are in this sale with the remainder of his collection being offered in an exclusive Cuckler auction in February. Gary Cuckler amassed a remarkable collection of various artifact types during his 25 years of collection. This auction will feature the Zakucia Birdstone, a Porphyry Popeyed masterpiece with a long and storied collector history. Several of Gary's finest Dovetails from his impressive Dovetail frame will be offered along with a dozen good old Cuckler Axes. Other noteworthy artifacts in this sale include Roy Hathcock's rare Negative Sunburst Jar. Well documented while in Roy's collection, it is a one of a kind ceramic. Gray LaDassor's rare Compound Bottle is being offered as well. It is considered one of the finest its type. A superb Knobbed Crescent Bannerstone from the Gary Lewis collection graces this auction, along with a few well documented Birdstones and top shelf Discoidals. Something for everyone in this sale!
