Pre-Columbian and Asian Ceramics

Stefek's Pre-Columbian and Asian Ceramics Auction presents a collection of various artifacts spanning centuries. All items from this auction come from the collection of Mr. Andrew Weertz, co-owner of the former Ports of Call, Ltd. store in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, which specialized in Pre-Columbian and Asian ceramics. Special highlights of the Pre-Columbian collection include a Mayan Jaina seated terracotta woman with additional baby figurine, a polychrome Mayan jaguar incensor with lid, and a collection of Moche pottery stirrup vessels. Various Asian ceramics will be on offer, with most of the collection made up of Chinese T'Ang ceramics. We will be showcasing several pieces of Chinese Jun Ware ceramics, a Kangxi peach bloom brush washer, two pieces of Cizhou black ware, a Yongzheng puce bowl, and a large T'Ang terracotta camel. Several carved greenstone and serpentinite figures are available for bidding, as well as Egyptian ushabti, bronze Buddhist sculptures, marble sculptures, Japanese and Korean ceramics, and pieces of Oceanic origin. If you would like to view any additional photos of an item, or would like a more detailed condition report, please let us know and our staff will be in touch.
