Extraordinary online auction Part II of several sales to offer contents of Clinton, Mass Museum. (The Gallery of African Art) the now closed museum founded by Gordon Lankton. Being sold without reserves in several sessions over the next few months. Over 700 items from 32 West African tribes will be included. Exceptional rarities in this sale include Lot numbers 6, 11, 19, 32, 33, 65, 75 and 93 each of which is elaborately described and illustrated with many photos as are all others. (Approximately 120 lots offered in this sale). This auction also includes antiques and fine art from a NYC interior designer's estate whose foremost work was exemplified at The Plaza among other NY landmarks. Also included are de-accessed artworks from a print museum and an extensive collection of Roseville. Among the fine art being offered is an important Marcus Stone R.A. figure in a garden; among important furnishings is a carved Victorian sofa attributed to Herter. Photography is represented. Orientalia to include bronzes, pottery, porcelains etc. Sports memorabilia. Movie and celebrity photos. Really fine smalls.
