Includes a large offering of Southern paintings, Civil War related material, International fine art, Southern decorative arts, folk art, early books, and other fine smalls. Tennessee art by Catherine Wiley, Lloyd Branson, Ella Hergesheimer, Louis Jones, Thomas Campbell, Charles Krutch, Samuel Shaver, George Dury, Ernest Pickup, Edward Hurst, and Eleanor Wiley. Southern art by Eliot Candee Clark, Dwight Holmes, Charles Reinike, Miles Early, Ernest Fredericks, and others. Additional fine art offerings include Sydney Long, Noel Leaver, Fritz Eichenberg, Leonard Baskin, Thomas Rowlandson, Gountei Sadahide, William Hoare, Leroy Neiman, and Miguel Covarrubias. Civil war and weapon related items include two painted Confederate canteens attributed to artist, John Adams Elder, 1863 Colt Hartford rifle, Model 1819 Harpers Ferry rifle, Tennessee long rifle, and belongings of Capt. Morse of the 7th Vermont Infantry. A rare cabinet card of Chief Quanah Parker and his wives will be offered as well.
