Habatat Mega MasterWorks Auction of Art Glass

Habatat (established in 1971) is the oldest and largest art gallery dedicated to artists working with glass as an art medium. This Mega MasterWorks auction offering over 70 works from multiple collections is the largest ever offered by Habatat. Most of these artists have works in both museums and private collections around the world. You are welcome to place your bids early before the live auction date of Friday, September 25th. In the recent past many of the newly appointed museum directors have acquired glass artworks to increase attention to their museums. Museums such as the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, the Flint Institute of Arts, The Imagine Museum, Toledo Museum of Art, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and many more. The artworks included in this exhibition offer a vast history of the contemporary glass art movement that started in 1962. YouTube has a video telling this important story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=VC4KHYSkdMs. Comments from the founder of Habatat Galleries: Included in this auction is work from the Jim and Daisy Fitzgerald collection. Jim and Daisey collection of glass artworks includes many of the early, and now most famous American artists. Most of whom have since became noted pioneers of studio glass. Daisy and her husband Jim had an amazing eye and early understanding of what would later become historically significant work. This collection was developed at a time when artists working with glass had to teach or create a product line to exist. Hence, individual outputs were very small which in retrospect made these works quite rare. Enjoy the auction and we look forward to your bids!
