333 Estate and Fine Art Auction

Our February sale is a collaboration of the Sollo:Rago Modern division and the 333 Estate division of the Rago Arts and Auction Center. The Friday night session will feature four, excellent, 19th century carved limestone figures, each 7 feet tall, from the Weiss Estate, which was designed by Louis Kahn in 1947. Also included will be a very unusual Aesthetic Movement bed and matching chest of drawers, the bed with inlaid designs of an owl, spider web, bat, moon and stars. Friday night will also include a strong selection of traditional property such as 18th and 19th century furniture, paintings, Native American items, rugs, traditional silver, porcelain and Arts & Crafts furniture. The Saturday session of the sale will feature an excellent group of Russian Avant–Garde paintings, Jensen silver and a very good and diverse collection of Modern furniture and decorative arts including Herman Miller, Dunbar, Starck, Eames, Kagan, Stendig, Wegner, Gae Aulenti and others. Saturday’s sale will also feature an eclectic collection of rare and vintage items from the 1930’s through the 1960’s including a Genco Fortune Teller, a larger than life “Bob’s Big Boy” trade figure an excellent and rare Bowden “Spacelander” bicycle, a goup of carved wood carousel figures, an excellent selection of John Risley figural wire furniture and many other interesting and unusual items.
