Inaugural Asian Art Auction
Pridham's Auctions & Appraisals is pleased to present its Inaugural Asian Art Sale on Saturday, the 7th of November at 10:00AM (EST). NOTE: the first 7 lots are made of ivory and will be offered on HiBid ONLY. This Collection is mainly from a private Canadian collector, along with other inclusions. The sale will include, but not limited to, a single collection of over 175 lots, consisting primarily of 19th century, Republic period and 20th century porcelains, ceramics and cloisonne, along with Japanese works of art (Satsuma, Imari, etc) and a stunning pair of Moriage vases. A good library of Christie's and Sotheby's (Asian Art related) catalogues, and various reference books. We are pleased to offer numerous other fine complimentary inclusions: highlights include a Chinese Qing Dynasty Famille Rose enameled 'Landscape' bowl, a pair of Chinese "Qianjiang Cai" plates by artist Ma Qing Yun (circa 1892), a Chinese "Qianjiang Cai" vase in the style of 'Cheng Men', a Chinese Famille Rose 'Narcissus' bowl with mark for "Yong Quin Chang Chun", as well as many more interesting and varied lots such as '100 Antiques' mirror silk panels, snuff bottles, pendants, hardstone pendants, jade, antique coins, bronze censers and a very large pair of Chinese bronze horses, a North Indian brass incised ewer (16-17th century), Asian rugs including a stunning palatial royal blue Beijing wool on cotton rug (circa 1890), lacquer furniture with white marble inlay, a rare Chinese eating trousse in tortoise shell (circa 1880) to name a few.
