Decorative Arts Auction - February 7
Treadway's winter auction will be held Sunday February 7 at 11am EST. This Art and Design sale offers a variety of American and European objects from numerous collections highlighted by the enamel collection of Ralph and Terry Kovel of Cleveland, Ohio. It includes over 50 examples by Gertrude Twitchell, Thelma Winter, Michael Higgins, Sascha Brastoff, Anthony Valksnoras, Edward Winter, Edna Stein, Annemarie Davidson, John Puskas, Dane Burr, Grace Cook, Maggie Howe, Lawrence Blazey, Pauli Lane, Mildred Watkins and Leo Hendricken. Other enamels by Wiener Werkstatte, Omar Ramsden, Frank Marshall, William Snelling Hadaway, Limoges and Liberty will be offered from another collection.
Arts and Crafts lighting and furniture features a Gustav Stickley bookcase and umbrella stand, numerous Tiffany and Handel lamps from 3 collections. Decorative objects include pieces of Rookwood, Marblehead and Newcomb combined with modern examples by Natzler, Claude Conover and Rose Cabat. Over 60 examples of American and European glass and ceramics include Galle, Burgun and Schverer, Lalique, Desiree Christian, Schneider, Loetz and Daum will be sold. A large Daum lamp will be offered along with a considerable collection of Loetz and Quezal silver overlay glass. Also from Cleveland we are offering some fine examples of French Art Nouveau furniture including pieces by Galle and Majorelle. This includes several inlaid tables as well as a nightstand, armoire, chair and bed.
Modern furnishings include examples by Val Bertoia, Finn Juhl, Eames, Dunbar and much much more.
