Sports Cards & Memorabilia: Session 2
One of our finest offerings in two sessions. Session two focusses on signed and game-used items. The auction consists mainly of a Washington state private collection that focused on items from and players that played in 1953 and the collection of Thomas P. Mulcahy (Professional Baseball Player for Pittsburgh Pirates, Coach for numerous teams, Front Office with San Diego padres, 1932-2021). Mr. Mulcahy was inducted three times into the Butte Sports Hall of Fame - in 1993 as an individual also in 1987 and 1993 as a member of two championship Hall of Fame teams, the 1949 State Champion American Legion baseball team and the 1950 State Champion Butte Central basketball team. His professional baseball life began when he was signed in 1956 by the Pittsburg Pirates. Tom was a lifetime member of the Association of Professional Baseball Players of America, after playing professionally for the Hollywood Stars, Lincoln and Topeka in the Western League, Spokane Indians and Lewiston in the Northwest League. Mr. Mulcahy took a position as a scout in 1969 for the San Diego Padres and rose to Director of Group Sales in the Front Office for the Padres. Session two is highlighted by game-worn or team issue, professional model jerseys from the San Diego Padres PCL days, game-used bats from Dave Winfield, Willie McCovey, several hundred signed baseballs from single signed Mickey Mantle to 1953 New York Yankees team ball, San Diego Padres team signed baseballs, programs including Cy Young, commemorative covers, cuts, index cards and more. 19th century trophy baseballs, 1953 New York Yankees World Series ring, Padres National League Champions rings and much, much more.
