This sale will feature wonderful items from this lovely home, as she makes the necessary decision to downsize and sell her home resulting in the offering of their life-long accumulation of antiques, collectibles, and furnishings. To highlight some of the many fine items from this home: Extremely Rare Confederate Note dated March 7th 1865 Confederate States Treasury Note in the amount of two million eight hundred and ten thousand eight hundred and eighty five dollars and twenty five cents which is made out to the former Confederate treasurer Edward Carrington Elmore and signed by the then (1865) acting Confederate Treasurer John N. Hendren. Note measures approximately 8 1/4" by 4", there are 17 Oriental Carpets (Persian Kachan, Peshawar, Tabriz, Bakhtiari, etc.), many Period Furniture pieces (c1791 Chippendale Chest and other Chippendale pieces, Victorian pieces, c1810 Regency Rosewood Tea Caddy, Fine Period Miniature 4 Draw Chest, etc. , numerous Paintings and Prints (Ernest Parton, Wallace Nutting, M. Reid and others) – there is one painting of rural landscape with cows possibly done by James McDougal Hart (we are researching this), several Fine Lamps, (including 2 Handel Lamps :Wisteria Table Lamp & Boudoir Lamp, Miller, Aladdin, Salem Bros., etc.), Period Philadelphia Grandfather Tall Clock , many mirrors, so much more.
For Live Auctioneer Bidders & Absentee Bidders - All costs for Shipping, Insurance, Handling, and Arrangements for pick-ups is on the successful bidder. We may assist with some items by bringing them for to UPS Store and putting you on the line with them to handle your shipping, insurance costs. Items not picked up or shipped that are being stored by us for over 30 days from end of sale, will start storage fees ($30 per week).
