IRA & LARRY GOLDBERG COINS & COLLECTIBLES - BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA

Ira and Larry Goldberg's April 17, 2010 auction consists of two sessions: Manuscripts and Collectibles, beginning at 10 A.M., and Space and Aviation, beginning at 1 P.M. Highlights of the Manuscript and Collectibles session include a Thomas Jefferson autograph letter reporting on the Lewis and Clark Expedition; a typed manuscript for a speech given by Barack Obama in 2007, with numerous corrections in his hand; a U.S. flag signed by nine Presidents: John F. Kennedy through George W. Bush; a Peter Force rice-paper copy of the Declaration of Independence; a Society of the Cincinnati gold eagle insignia; a 1543 Martin Luther lost autograph manuscript signed; Shakespeare's 1685 Fourth Folio, a J.D. Salinger archive; the only know Bat Masterson autograph letter signed; a photo of the Beatles signed by all four; and a group of original paintings and photographs from the famous Brown Derby restaurant. Other categories include Sports, Arms, Military Memorabilia, Jewelry, Fossils, and Meteorites, as well as a group of Audubon prints and Duck Stamp prints.

Highlights of the Space and Aviation section include a unique First Edition of H.G. Wells' 1901 book, "The First Men in the Moon" signed by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin; a Gemini 11, 1965 FLOWN "Procedures" Book/Checklist from astronaut Richard "Dick" Gordon's collection; Ed White's "United States Military Academy" 1952 class ring, worn during White's 1965 "spacewalk," a3s well as during the tragic 1967 Apollo 1 fire that took his life; Ed White's "Astronaut Hall of Fame" Medallion and Ribbon (awarded posthumously); and an Apollo 12 FLOWN Lunar Surface Module ID Plate.
