Ireland Stamps, Covers and Airmails 1840-1997

One of the most important auctions of Irish Philately this decade, featuring extensive ranges of Great Britaiin used in Ireland including High Values to £5, fine ranges of Forerunners including the famous 4d "SLIGO", 226 lots of Overprints with almost all the great rarities present, many Seahorse blocks and important errors including the 1935 10 shilling with Double Overprint, also an extensive range of Overprint Coil Leaders and Ends. The second part of the auction includes over 50 lots of Essays, fine ranges of Definitives with several major rarites including a complete 1942 2 shilling booklet, Commemoratives with many early Gutter Pairs and important Errors including 1976 US Bicentenary Missing Silver. After that come the Ireland Fiscals, with many rare and unique items from the Col. B.B. Zellers and J.E. Foley collections. The sale concludes with Irish Railway Covers, Irish Airmail Covers including Crash, Zeppelin and Catapult acceptances, and finally Irish Postal Stationary including Telegram Forms and rare up-rated Great Britain Registered Envelopes. The pre-sale Starting Prices come to well over $300,000.
