Asian Works of Art

This fall, the Asian Art department at Hindman is proud to present over 350 lots of fine Chinese works of art and Chinese paintings with a selection of important Japanese Art. Highlights including a small collection of beautiful Tang dynasty Sancai glazed pottery figures from the collection of Al and Hazel Sullivan, Prospect, Louisville; a selection of fine Chinese Ming and Qing fan paintings from the collection of Leung Kum Wah, Ontario, Canada; many exciting Chinese jade and jadeite articles from various private estates and collections; a rare and important Japanese Buddhist sutra from the Nara period, 8-9th Century, as well as a set of six 18th/19th Century Japanese Buddhist paintings from Palm Springs Art Museum, California, sold to support the care of collections and the William Holden fund for acquisitions.
