Vintage Fountain Pens & Pencils

This sale, originally due to be held on the 18th March, contains a fine and broad collection of writing implements and ephemera.. A good collection of Georgian and Victorian inkwells includes a beautiful Travelling Escritoire in the form of a miniature trunk bound in leather containing a glass pounce pot inkwell, taper holder and pens and pencils. This can be dated between 1816 and 1837 as the Royal Coat of Arms stamped on the case was only in use during those years. The 'Golden Era' of writing in the 1920s and 30s is extremely well-represented with several hundred pens including all the famous names of day. More modern pens will be appearing at prices often below their full retail value. Certainly the full colour catalogue is essential for collectors or private buyers who may only need a solitary pen for more formal occasions when a humble biro just won't do!
