Contents of Pallinsburn House

This sale comprises the principal contents of Pallinsburn House, Northumberland. Pallinsburn was the home of the Mitchell family who made a fortune shipbuilding in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and purchased the estate in 1910. The sale includes many fine Georgian items from Sundrum Castle, Ayrshire, which were inherited by Hope Hamilton, Charles Mitchell's wife, in 1917, and also some residual contents from Stanage Castle, Powys, another family home.
