Silver, ceramics, weathervanes, needlework, Chinese Export porcelain, quilts, rugs, Folk paintings, and historical and decorative prints will also be offered. Featured is a group of furniture from the collection of former New York City Mayor John Lindsay, including a Chippendale mahogany serpentine chest of drawers (lot 2200). Furniture highlights from other owners include a pair of Federal inlaid mahogany card tables, Massachusetts (lot 2212); a Queen Anne maple high chest, New England (lot 2173) and a late 18th century walnut corner cupboard, Mid-Atlantic States, possibly Pennsylvania (lot 2215). American silver features a pair of Classical pitchers retailed by Baldwin Gardiner, New York (lot 2128) and a presentation ewer, circa 1835, by Marquand & Co. (lot 2130). Among the decorations are a handsome Regency gilt-wood pier mirror (lot 2193), a scrimshaw and rosewood purse depicting a whaling scene (lot 2158), and a painted sheet iron weathervane depicting a man peering through a spyglass (lot 2204).
