The Iris Love Estate Part II

Merrill's Auctions is pleased to once again be offering items from the estate of Iris Cornelia Love (1933- 2020), widely celebrated for her notable career as an Archaeologist, including her discovery of the Temple of Aphrodite at Knidos, as well as the owner of Westminster champion dachshunds. Ms. Love was the longtime partner of renowned NYC writer and columnist Liz Smith. Both women were prominent figures in New York society for decades. At auction will be antiques and artwork from Iris's Lincoln, Vermont home as well as jewelry and objets d'art from her New York City apartment. Merrill's will also offer furniture, glass, china, & silver from other fine homes, including an outstanding collection of Asian art ,and the contents of a West Windsor, VT equestrian estate.
