Russian Books, Posters and Other Collectibles

Our Fall 2010 auction will take place at Cherrystone Auction Galleries in New York City on December 2, 2010 at 1pm ET. This promises to be an exciting sale that will feature an important Pasternak manuscript draft, the legendary Opyt o Prosveshenii by Pnin (confiscated back in 1803, after it was discovered that the author was arguing for the liberation of serfs), a rare 1913 folio of lithographs by Goncharova and Larionov(only a few known), a one of a kind collection of Constructivist textile designs, a collection of rare Russian Isotype stencils, scarce space autographs, and scores of scarce to rare Constructivist and Futurist books, including the exceedingly rare Myatezh I (Kruchenykh, Khlebnikov). The magazine section includes the complete runs of SA, and of the Avant-Garde Almanac. There is a great selection of books on architecture, and many children's books. The poster and photography section features Rodchenko's Dobrolet and a rare photomontage by Rodchenko, showing John Heartfield, and with Rodchenko's handwritten notes on reverse. There is also a great selection of Soviet WWII posters. In short, highlights are simply too numerous to list. We invite you to take a look. Cherrystone Auction Galleries are conveniently located in midtown Manhattan at 119 W. 57th St., 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10019.
