Western & Contemporary Native American Art

Hindman’s biannual Western and Contemporary Native American Art auction will offer more than 280 lots of painting, sculpture and contemporary Native American fine art and craft that includes an incredible selection of works for every collector. This auction will feature over 75 works from the Collection of Robert P. Hunter, Jr. and Barbara Hunter of Alpharetta, Georgia, which champions some of the brightest names in contemporary Western art. In addition to the Hunter Collection, of particular note are important historic and contemporary western works by Frederic Remington, Joseph Henry Sharp, Eanger Irving Couse, Oscar Berninghaus, Olaf Wieghorst, Dave McGary, Ed Mell, Howard Post and Louisa McElwain. Included in this sale is one of the most comprehensive selections of work by contemporary Native American artist Fritz Scholder to come to auction in recent years. Other important contemporary Native American artists represented include Earl Biss, David Bradley, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Preston Singletary, Russell Sanchez, Nathan Youngblood and Virgil Ortiz.
