Quinn's Rare Books, Maps, and Autographs.

Quinn?s Auction Galleries is pleased to present an auction of rare books, antique maps, and Americana. The sale features over 250 rare and signed books, maps, and autographs. These include items by Thomas Wolfe, Benjamin Harrison, the Rehnquist Supreme Court, Eudora Welty, and a copy of the Ellicott Plan of Washington D.C.. We also feature an original Rackham illustration for "The Tempest." and a first period Pony Express Cover from 1860. Books include early printings, fine bindings, First edition, and books signed by Eudora Welty, Charles Lindbergh and Maurice Sendak. The auction also contains two early illustrated books, a copy of the 1688 edition of "Paradise Lost" by John Milton and a copy of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid that documented the South Sea Bubble. Autograph highlights include signatures from the members of the Rehnquist Supreme Court to former spokeswoman Toni House, Elizabeth II, Hebert Hoover, Ronald Reagan. Rita Hayworth and Cary Grant. Quinn?s is also pleased to present a complete set of Helman's "Batailles de la Chine reduites d'apres les grandes planches que l'empereur Kien-Long." Engraved by Jesuits on order by the Chinese Emperor Qainlong to document and showcase his military exploits and reign. We also have on offer 92 plates from the 1835-70 edition of Flora Japonica and well as a 1775 Jefferson-Fry copy of A Map of the Most Inhabited Part of Virginia containing the whole Province of Maryland with Part of Pensilvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Illustrated items include an original Arthur Rackham signed and titled drawing for The Tempest, entitled "Ariel and Goblins". We have, in addition, illustrated books by Cresset Press and a vellum copy of Forsaken Merman executed by the The Guild of Women Binders, hand colored by Gloria Cardew, one of only 10 published.
