Wedgwood Family Fine Art Collection

Second Story Books is proud to present the Wedgwood Family Fine Art Collection. The collection is largely made up of 18th and 19th-century portraiture, Wedgwood statuary, and mid-20th century prints. Highlights include a Washington Allston oil painting, multiple George Grosz watercolors, and an impressive assortment of signed drawings and prints by Oskar Kokoschka and Käthe Kollwitz. Primarily known for their fine china and porcelain, the Wedgwood Family were early advocates for the abolition of slavery, universal human rights, and freedom of speech. The majority of the pieces in this eclectic collection have been acquired since 2000, while the Wedgwood busts (primarily dating to the mid-19th century) have been in the hands of the family since their manufacture.
