NOVEMBER 3 Rose Valley Museum Benefit Auction
Featuring: More than 400 lots of Arts & Crafts, Midcentury, and other and period furniture, decorative arts, fine art, including some created by Delaware Valley artisans, and much more, with some pieces owned by the museum and others donated or on consignment from local collectors, including an 18th century blanket chest with intricate carvings and hand-wrought hardware, a 19th century tiger maple table made in New York state and a Stickley bed, along with an assortment of Roseville and Arts & Crafts pottery, ceramics, lamps, stained glass, and Victorian braided hair ornaments. Proceeds from this auction will benefit the museum?s acquisition fund and be used to defray the cost of two recently-procured Samuel Yellin chandeliers and furnishings that decorated Thunderbird Lodge in the early 1900?s. Thunderbird Lodge, a converted 1790?s stone barn, was designed as studios for world-renowned illustrator Alice Barber Stephens and her husband, Charles, an early Native American ethnologist.
