***ABSOLUTE AUCTION*** - Causey Estate Sale
The lifelong collection of Danny and Angie Causey consists of many collectible items covering a broad range of interest and is scheduled for absolute auction. There is a very large collection of Face Jugs, old toys in boxes, unusual glassware, and original art. Perhaps the most unusual is the carving of a cypress knee that shows a catfish in a hole in the knee. (For those not from south Louisiana, a cypress knee is a separate growth off of the roots of a cypress tree.) It was carved by an inmate at the Louisiana State Prison and took nearly three years to complete. Also included are antique furniture, oil lamps, coins, and a guitar and mandolin made by another inmate. The instruments were made from manila folders and plastic garbage bags, but are playable
