GREAT ESTATES Fine Art NYC Artists
Our December Great Estates: Fine Art Auction features Session II of The Lifetime Collection of paintings, sculpture, and prints from a Private NYC Gentleman. After offering Session I this past summer, we are proud to present another 270 works from this single-owner collection, the intention of focus continues to be on art by artists active in New York City and Regional American Artists throughout the 20th Century. The selected works encompass important pieces by the diversity of artists at the epicenter of the times and spanning the entire Century: Regionalism, American Scene Painters, Social Realists, Modernists to Postmodernism, and Abstract Expressionism. This well rounded representation wouldn't be complete without showcasing the vibrant Russian Jewish Immigrant Arts Community who throughout the 20th Century have made such important contributions to every aspect of the American Experience as we know it.
A true collector's eye is apparent here as we notice prime and comprehensive examples from the lesser known artists active within the inner circles of New York City. Artists that aren't as widely known but well worth collecting are expected to attract competitive bidding with today's ever evolving and socially conscious market. Also represented are works by 19th Century American Artists, California and Canadian Artists, European modernists, a bronze chess set entitled Liberty v. Slavery by New York Sculptor, Alfred Van Loen, a life-sized carved wood sculpture by Milton Hebald entitled Mother and Child, outsider and naive pieces, and important works by Haitian artists. Artists of note: Alfred Richard Gurrey, Arthur B. Davies, Frances Mumaugh, George Henry Bogert, Wellington Jarard Reynolds, Alfred Juergens, Charles F. Chamberlain, Will Howe Foote, Charles Camoin, Henri Farge, Abraham Walkowitz, George Constant, Morris Kantor, Gerrit Hondius, Boris Dmitrievich Grigoriev, William L'Engle, Paul Burlin, Russell Cowles, Georg John Lober,
