Treadway/Toomey Galleries, announces their Sunday, September 11th, 20th Century Art and Design Auction located at the John Toomey Gallery in Oak Park Illinois. Included are over 1150 lots of furniture, lighting, metalwork, pottery, and glassware from the Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau period through a broad range of Modern Design, as well as a selection of fine European and American paintings, prints, and sculpture. The first session will feature several important pieces of early Gustav Stickley, Limbert and other Arts & Crafts furniture. Important Teco vase designed by Fritz Albert also included are Rookwood, Marblehead, Van Briggle, Wheatley, Hamphire and other American and European pottery. A large collection of Turkish rugs, metalware, Art Glass including Tiffany, Loetz, Galle'. A nice selection of Frank Lloyd Wright and Hickory furniture as well as other Arts & Crafts Items. Session two include a mixture of traditional and modern paintings by such artists Gene Pressler, Hudson Kitchell, Oskar Gross, Percy Fisher, Robert Grafton, Wilson Irvine, Jennie Brownscombe, and others The third and final session of the sale, 1950s/Modern. Such designers as, George Nelson, Pierre Paulin, Eames, Noguchi, Paulin, Harvey Probber, Knoll, Mies van der Rohe, Paul Frankl, Higgins, Wormley, Paul McCobb, Scarpa, Frank Lloyd Wright, Finn Juhl, and much more.
