Rona Barrett and Diane & Sandy Besser Estates

This auction?s artworks are part of a number of important collections including the Rona Barrett Collection, whose proceeds to benefit The Rona Barrett Foundation: Dedicated to Helping Seniors in Need, drawings from the Diane & Sandy Besser Collection and contemporary prints from the Irv Wiener Collection. Also featured is furniture and decorative items from the Harold Berkowitz Estate as well as a wonderful collection of Reuge Muscial Boxes, Chinese Porcelains, sterling silver ware, a crystal chandelier, an antique Carousel Horse and a rare collection of Charles Manson letters to his attorney, Irving Kanarek, during the Helter Skelter Trial. There are 311 lots being auctioned. Artworks included are the rare gigantic Theophile Steinlen AFFICHES CHARLES VERNUEAU/LA RUE, 1896 lithograph, 90 ½ x 116 ¼?, a chain-saw painting by Charles Arnoldi, unique works by Robert Longo, Dale Chihuly, Le Pho, Mary Corse, an 18th Century painting by Alexander Marie Colin, late 19th Century Polish painter Antoni Piotrowski, as well as 19th Century paintings by Hugh Bolton Jones, George Morland and Jacob Thompson and drawings by John Sloan and David Burliuk. Also featured is a monumental sculpture by Guy Dill and prints by Sam Francis, Louise Nevelson, Terry Winters, Carroll Dunham, Helen Frankenthaler and photography by Barbara Bloom and Edward Curtis.
