Cooper Owen's next MUSIC LEGENDS sale takes place on Thursday 27th October at Madame Tussauds, London. The auction will start at 6.30pm and includes an enticing assortment of lots.
The sale will include the historic Beatles wax work heads used on the iconic cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band together with the original Diana Dors portrait bust from the same shoot. This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase part of what has to be the most well recognised and influential cover artwork of all time, a true piece of Beatles and Pop Art history.
In addition the sale will include specially commissioned costume and props used in the original Beatles display at Tussauds, items later commissioned for the Beatles Rock Circus display together with an important, original set of suits made for the Beatles for use in the film A Hard Day's Night and later donated to the Museum, as well as other items of memorabilia accumulated by Tussauds over the years.
The sale also includes a rare and extensive collection of early Beach Boys contracts, lyric's, hand written music sheets and original test pressings for some of their best known hits including Fun, Fun, Fun, Good Vibrations, I Get Around and Surfin' USA. A truly remarkable collection of paperwork charting some of the groups best known and best loved releases.
The auction is jam packed with other exciting lots such as the Rolling Stones' first recording contract signed by Brian Jones, a Bag One programme signed for a journalist by John and Yoko together with an Art Deco ring owned by the Lennons, a fantastic fur coat owned by John Entwistle, a shirt owned by Paul McCartney, in the early sixties and given to a family friend, Madonna's personal diary, Jim Morrison's signed death benefit card and much, much more.
