Clarke's July sale will include a large variety of estate fresh lots. Asian items, still strong is today's market, include an important pair of lidded porcelain urns, a large collection of ivory figures and animals from a Long Island estate, porcelain plaques, vases, urns, a bronze Buddha, etc. Fine art is highlighted by prints by Rufino Tamayo, Lee Krasner, Louis Icart, Rembrandt Van Rijn, and Romare Bearden; paintings and works on paper include pieces by American artists such as Paul Clemens, F.J. Boston, Keith Shaw Williams, James Lechay, and A.T. Bricher; a large indecipherably signed 19th C. American oil with Indian encampments holds intrigue; European paintings include a 19th c. oil after Murillo, a large John Faed oil, an Adolf Behrmann oil of a Rabbi and 3 Old Master oils on copper. Several lots of 19th c. French Boulle furniture, an English Victorian tilt top table, and an 18th C. Needlepoint carpet are some of the period antique pieces in this sale. Numerous lots of midcentury modern include a Brazilian Rosewood Sofa, Charles Eames, and Harvey Probber, and Karl Springer. Clarke rounds off the sale with decorative arts such as carpets, a large collection of glass and crystal chandeliers, a Tiffany Studios box, pieces by Daum Nancy, R. Lalique, several lots of Oscar Bach, sterling silver and silver plate, bronze and marble candelabra, and Jewelry including platinum and diamond rings, etc.
