Fabulous African Art and Artifacts Auction

Cedarburg Auction & Estate Sales, LLC has the opportunity to present the lifelong collection of Mr. Mark Wentzel?s amazing African Art and Artifacts of over 300 pieces! Mr. Wentzel has lived and traveled in Africa for over 43 years and this is a rare chance to view and obtain these unique tribal pieces for the discerning collectors of African Artifacts. Most of Mr. Wentzel's collection has been field gathered in Sub-Saharan West and East Africa. He started collecting while attending college in Sierra Leone in the early 1960's. His expanding travels were strongly influenced by his roommates and friends at Fourah Bay College in Sierra Leone. They invited him to their villages during and after his college experience. His friends and roommates came from several different countries and many different tribal groups. His travels have taken him to 17 African countries with most of his travels being off the beaten path and into small villages. Mr. Wentzel's passion for artifacts and travel rituals has been centered within the context of the cultures he has visited. Although many of the pieces in the auction have never been publicly displayed, Mr. Wentzel has hosted a number of Gallery and Museum shows in the central area of the United States.
